Sacramento Weather Forecast

Spring arrives with warm and dry weather. Changes coming by the end of the week with showers and cooler temperatures.

SACRAMENTO, Calif — Spring arrives Tuesday with unseasonably warm temperatures. Highs will stay about ten degrees above average for the vernal equinox. This as a high pressure ridge dominates much of the Pacific Coast with sinking, warming air. The center of the High starts to drop into the Great Basin on Wednesday which will give way to a change in our weather pattern.

A cooler and wetter weather pattern is setting up for the first weekend of Spring. Showers may start as early as Friday afternoon and wet the stage for more weather systems to bring rain and snow through the beginning of April.

Rain and snow impacts will be minor but there will probably be enough snow for chain controls at some point Friday to early Sunday.

Although our wet season winds down from here on out, it doesn't mean we're done!
