SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The 2019 Amgen Tour of California kicks off on Sunday, May 12 but you'll see delays on Monday, May 13 as well.
The men's race, which is the only one to touch our area, takes place from May 12 to May 18. Stage one starts in Sacramento and stage two will start on Monday and go from Rancho Cordova to South Lake Tahoe. Check out the full course, here.
Does this mean you'll have to adjust your schedule because you live in those areas? Probably. But we've got you covered!
RANCHO CORDOVA
- May 12 - May 13 / Prospect Park Drive between White Rock Road and Gold Center Drive will be closed in front of Rancho Cordova City Hall.
Rolling Road Closures:
- 9:10 a.m - 9:40 a.m. / The race will turn from Prospect Park Drive onto White Rock Road heading east at 9:30 AM.
- 9:21 a.m. - 9:36 a.m. / The race will cross Prospect Park Drive
- 9:22 a.m. - 9:37 a.m. / The race will cross Kilgore Road
- 9:23 a.m. - 9:38 a.m. / The race will cross Sunrise Boulevard
- 9:25 a.m. - 9:40 a.m. / The race will cross near Old White Rock Road
- 9:30 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. / The race will leave Rancho Cordova on White Rock
Detours: International Drive or Zinfandel Drive to avoid some of the delays
Parking: Event parking will be available at White Rock Road near Zinfandel Drive. Bike Valet parking will be available at Rancho Cordova City Hall on Prospect Park Drive.

PLACERVILLE
On Monday, you'll start to see delays in Placerville around 11 a.m.
Detours: Use US-50 to avoid some of the delays.
Cyclists will then make their way to Carson Pass around 2:45 p.m. Expect delays on Cedar Ravine Road near Main Street and on Oma Ranch Road at Mt Aukum Road.
Detours: Shake Ridge Road or US-50.
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE
Cyclists will end stage two at Heavenly Ski Resort in South Lake Tahoe. Expect delays on SR-88 and SR-89.
Detour: Use US-50 to avoid some of the delays.
