A traffic stop on Monday led to the arrest of a heavily-tatted Fresno gang member, according to the Fresno Police Department.
An officer pulled over 33-year-old Khamprasong Thammavong near the corner of East Kaviland Avenue and South Holloway Avenue, a half-mile west of Calwa in Fresno County, at around 5:40 p.m.
Thammavong is a documented Laos Blood gang member and a realignment (AB 109) probationer.
The traffic officer had a Southeast Violent Crime Impact Team officer assist him on the stop, according to the police department, and that officer was able to identify Thammavong's address -- which is open to search and seizure.
During a probation search of Thammavong's home on East Hoxie Avenue, officers found a number of gang-related items, including photos of Thammavong holding firearms -- a semi-automatic rifle and semi-automatic handgun -- which were recovered from his home after the search. The firearms were not registered to Thammavong.
Tactical gear (similar to law enforcement equipment), a 38-plant marijuana grow and drug paraphernalia were also found in his home, according to the department. Police said Thammavong is not licensed to grow or posses marijuana in the state.
Thammavong was booked into the Fresno County Jail on multiple felony charges, the department said, including felon in possession of a firearm and cultivation of marijuana. Further investigation is being handled by narcotic detectives and code enforcement officials, according to Fresno police.
