2 shot at an Oakland high school | UPDATE

The shooting happened in the 12200 block of Skyline Boulevard at Skyline High School.

OAKLAND, Calif. — Two people were shot at a high school in Oakland Thursday night, according to the Oakland Police Department

The shooting happened around 7:45 p.m. in the 12200 block of Skyline Boulevard at Skyline High School. The shooting happened on the north side, inside the school, according to the police department. According to the school's website, a graduation event was being held that night.

When officers arrived, they found two people with gunshot wounds who were taken to a hospital. Robert Trevino with the Oakland Police Department said the two people were listed in stable condition as of Thursday night.

Their identities haven't been released, but Trevino said they were two adults, one man and one woman. The people's connection to the high school hasn't been released.

Trevino said officers searched the school after the shooting and it was clear and safe.

The shooting appears to be an isolated incident according to the police department and it is under investigation.
