Suspect in Citrus Heights robbery series arrested

Police said the suspect was spotted by Placer County deputies and arrested after he crashed his car in a short chase.

CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. — The suspect in a series of Citrus Heights robberies was arrested by Placer County Sheriff's deputies last week.

According to the Citrus Heights Police Department, the robberies happened April 14 and 16. 

The first robbery was reported along the 8000 block Greenback Lane. According to police, the business was robbed at gunpoint by a masked man who demanded cash and took off.

The second robbery was reported along the 7000 block of Sunrise Boulevard. According to police, an employee said the business was robbed at gunpoint by a masked man who also demanded cash and took off.

The total loss from both robberies was about $750.  

Police were eventually able to determine the suspect's car and possible identity, 27-year-old Sage Parrish.

However on April 17, Parrish was spotted by a Placer County Sheriff's deputy in the Lincoln and Roseville area. Police said it led to short chase where Parrish crashed his car. He was then taken into custody.

Police said evidence from both robberies were found in his car, along with the gun.

 He was booked into the Placer County Jail on suspicion of evading police, possession of drugs while armed with a gun, false imprisonment, carrying a loaded handgun, possession of a non-serialized firearm and possession of narcotics.

On Wednesday, Parrish was served robbery charges for the incidents in Citrus Heights.
