Duo arrested with more than $2,000 of stolen Target goods in Lathrop, police say

Police said a woman ran out of Target's emergency exit with a shopping car full of stolen merchandise

LATHROP, Calif. — Two people were arrested with more than $2,000 in stolen goods from a Lathrop Target, police said.

Lathrop police said officers were called to a theft in progress at the store Saturday night. Police said a woman ran out of Target's emergency exit with a shopping car full of stolen merchandise and got into a white Mercedes sedan driven by a man.

According to police, the car led them on a short chase after officers tried to do an enforcement stop. However, the car was eventually disabled near Louise Avenue and Cambridge Drive.

The woman surrendered to police, but police said the man tried to run away before being caught. Both suspects were booked into the county jail.
