Adam Sandler stops by Arizona restaurant

The "Happy Gilmore" actor posed for a picture before leaving the Tucson restaurant.

TUCSON, Ariz. — Firebirds Wood Fired Grill in Tucson had a special guest last week.

Mario Alatorre, the general manager at Firebirds, and his staff had a visit from actor Adam Sandler.

Alatorre said Sandler was a very humble person, he said hi to everyone and treated everyone respectfully.

The staff treated Sandler like they treat every guest and left him alone to enjoy the experience.

Alatorre said Sandler enjoyed the food and then asked everyone to get together to take a picture.

According to Alatorre, the hospitality of the staff at Firebirds make every guest feel warm.

Rob Schneider, who's acted with Sandler on "Saturday Night Live" and several feature films, has lived in the Valley.

What is the Valley?:

“The Valley” is what locals call the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. It is considered the largest metropolitan area in the Southwest.

The Valley is made up of various major cities other than Phoenix, including:

  • Mesa
  • Chandler
  • Scottsdale
  • Tempe
  • Glendale
  • Surprise
  • Peoria
  • Gilbert
  • El Mirage
  • Avondale
  • Litchfield Park
  • Goodyear
  • Buckeye

Whether a city is in the “East Valley” or “West Valley” depends on where it is in relation to Phoenix.
