SAN DIEGO — Breaking Bad actor Aaron Paul and his family were given an unforgettable opportunity by the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

In a post to social media, the Hollywood star’s daughter, Story, was asked to name a baby giraffe calf born at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. Paul said his daughter named the giraffe “Elliott”, inspired by her favorite movie, “ET.”

Elliott is the main character who befriends an extra-terrestrial in the Academy Award-winning Steven Spielberg movie.

“I just wanted to take a moment to send some love to my wonderful friends at the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance for giving me and my beautiful family a moment we will never forget,” Paul said on Instagram. “Next time you find yourself at the park please go say hello to this little guy. He’s amazing.”

The San Diego Zoo Safari Park said Elliott was born on Oct. 7 to parents Mara and Gowan and has been nurtured and growing.

Paul has visited San Diego County more than once this year. In March, Paul and his Breaking Bad co-star Bryan Cranston surprised shoppers at a Mission Valley Costco to promote their Mezcal tequila brand.
