DMV offices opening earlier to combat long wait times

Dozens of offices are now opening at 7 a.m. to help serve more people with less of a wait time.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California's DMV offices want to help you spend less time at their offices.

That's why they're now offering early-office hours to a total of 69 locations across the state by opening at 7 a.m. everyday, except Wednesdays. Closing hours will stay the same at 5 p.m. throughout state offices.

Ten of those DMVs with adjusted hours are located in Northern California:

Offices in Auburn, Carmichael, Davis, Rocklin, and Turlock have offered extended hours since last summer.

DMV locations that are not included in the adjusted hours will continue to open at 9 a.m. For more information, visit the DMV website.
