Three men convicted of the murder of a Citrus Heights father in 2013 learned their sentences Friday.

Jeffrey Douglas Powell was sentenced 16-years-to-life for second-degree murder and using a knife in the slaying of 52-year-old Jack Swaim on Jan. 5, 2013. The victim succumbed to a knife wound to the chest when Powell, two other defendants and a fourth man kicked in the door of his home that Saturday morning and attacked him.

According to court documents, the defendants were looking for Swaim's son who had been in a fight earlier with defendant Andrew Lee Johnson.

Johnson received 27 years in prison after a plea deal he made to describe what led up to the attack, according to the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office.

The third defendant, Christopher Langlois, was sentenced 15-years-to-life in prison.
