Citrus Heights Dollar Tree roof collapses. Store to remain closed until repairs made

Another tree was downed by the California storm that hit over the weekend, but it may not be the tree you’re thinking of.

CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. — A Dollar Tree in Citrus Heights is closed Monday until repairs are made on its collapsed roof.

Around 3 a.m., the roof collapsed into the store located at 7000 Sunrise Blvd. as a result of a statewide storm that ravaged California over the weekend, according to a social media post by Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.

The collapse did not injure anyone, and the building will remain closed until repairs can be made, the district said.

Rick Kelley, a building inspector with the city of Citrus Heights, declared the building unsafe to occupy through a notice on its front door.

Entry is prohibited except to repair the building under permit.
