Pedestrian killed in I-80 crash near Davis

Both drivers accused of hitting the pedestrian stayed at the scene, law enforcement officials said.

DAVIS, Calif. — A pedestrian was killed after being hit by two cars on Interstate 80 near Davis, officials with the California Highway Patrol's Woodland area office said.

The crash was reported on westbound I-80 west of Mace Boulevard around 5:45 p.m. Thursday.

According to the CHP, the pedestrian was hit by a Ford while allegedly trying to cross the lanes of traffic. The crash caused the pedestrian to fall into the left lane of the interstate where a Toyota also hit them.

Both drivers accused of hitting the pedestrian stayed at the scene and were not under the influence, the CHP said.

The pedestrian died at the scene of the crash. Officials have launched an investigation into the crash and ask witnesses to call investigators at 530-702-6250.
