Elvis Presley's 1969 Cadillac Eldorado sells for $253K at Arizona auction

It was a bidding frenzy at State Farm Stadium Friday.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — It isn't his famous pink Cadillac, but one of Elvis Presley's cars sold Friday in Glendale for more than $200,000.

The 1969 Cadillac Eldorado, bought new by Presley, created a bidding frenzy at Mecum Glendale 2024 at State Farm Stadium. The winning bid was $230,000. With the "buyer's premium," the total cost was $253,000.

"Minds blown," one of the announcers said after the sale.

The car was purchased new by Presley from Hillcrest Motor Company in Beverly Hills, California on May 21, 1969, the auction company said.

The car has 46,116 miles on it and was used by Elvis and Priscilla Presley at their Beverly Hills home from 1969 to 1973, according to Mecum Auctions. Check out more photos of the classic car here.

The classic and collector car auction is happening at the stadium through March 9. The auction features about 2,000 classic and collector vehicles, including one of the first 300 Corvettes ever made in the model's debut year in 1953.

Gates open daily at 8 a.m. and auctions begin at 10 a.m.
