Cat revived from Orangevale house fire, 7 residents escape unharmed

The fire started around 5 p.m. in the 8100 block of Ruthwood Way in Orangevale, fire officials say.

ORANGEVALE, Calif. — A cat was rescued and seven people were uninjured in an Orangevale house fire Saturday evening, according to the Sacramento Metro Fire Department. 

The fire started around 5 p.m. in the 8100 block of Ruthwood Way in Orangevale, fire officials say. 

While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, fire officials say the fire was in a second story bedroom. A car was rescued and revived at the scene. 

No other injuries were reported in the fire and the home suffered major damage. No other information is available at this time.
