Qualcomm opens in Folsom. Semiconductor company provides office to 20 existing remote employees

Qualcomm will host an opening ceremony for the Iron Point Road office at noon Friday.

FOLSOM, Calif. — Qualcomm, a global semiconductor design company headquartered in San Diego, will open an office in Folsom Friday.

Qualcomm will host an opening ceremony for the office, located at 1024 Iron Point Road, at noon Friday. It will provide roughly 20 existing remote Qualcomm employees in Folsom with a home of sorts and jobs to new computing business employees, according to the company.

“Qualcomm’s new office opening highlights the growth trajectory of its compute business and underscores Qualcomm's investment in Folsom's flourishing tech ecosystem,” the company said in a statement.

Folsom was also chosen due to the great depth of talent that already exists in the city, Qualcomm told ABC10.

Qualcomm joins a large tech community in Folsom with the opening of its new office. Samsung Semiconductor Inc. opened a research and development office on Iron Point Road without announcement in November 2023, ABC10 previously reported.

Other tech companies and major employers in the city include Intel Corp., PowerSchool and Micron Technology.
