PATTERSON, Calif. — A former principal for a Patterson elementary school passed away over the weekend, school officials said.
The Patterson Joint Unified School District announced Alma Romo's death on Sunday. A spokesperson for the school district didn't have any additional details surrounding her death.
In a Facebook post, the school district said Romo was the former principal for Walnut Grove Elementary School and also served their district for many years as a teacher and administrator.
"She has no doubt left an impact on the lives of our students, families, staff, and education community. She will be remembered as a friend and colleague to many and is survived by her loving husband and son," the school district in their Facebook post.
School officials intend to have a moment of silence in Romo's memory at their Monday board meeting.
