STANISLAUS COUNTY, Calif. — Two people are dead and two more are injured after an accident near Modesto Wednesday evening.
The California Highway Patrol said the crash was reported around 5:45 p.m. in the area of Highway 132 and Gates Road.
Police said an Infinity veered left into oncoming traffic, hitting a Chevy Suburban head-on and catching fire.
The two people in the Infinity were pronounced dead at the scene and the two in the Chevy Suburban were hospitalized with major, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Highway 132 was temporarily closed for the investigation, but it has since been reopened, according to Caltrans.
