A cockfighing operation was shut down and 13 people were arrested in Ceres on Saturaday, said the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department.
The illegal fighting operation was in the 3400 block of Warner Road. Deputies said two roosters were found dead, and another one was found dying of injuries it suffered during a fight.
Deputies found over 50 roosters on the property and turned them over to animal control.
