Found: Modesto police report the two missing children have been found safe

The two were last seen being dropped off at Roosevelt Junior High and are believed to have left together.

MODESTO, Calif — Update:

The Modesto Police Department is reporting that the two children have been found safe.

The Modesto Police Department is asking for the public's help locating two missing children.

According to a Facebook post by the department, Payten Burnett, 12, and David Portillo, 13, were last seen being dropped off at school, Roosevelt Junior High, the morning of Wednesday, Feb. 19. Neither reported to their classes. It's believed the two left the school grounds together.
