North Tahoe Business Association fires executive director

The business association's Board of Directors said in a news release it fired its executive director for not following bylaws, policies and procedures.

PLACER COUNTY, Calif. — The North Tahoe Business Association has fired its executive director.

The business association's Board of Directors said in a news release on May 15 it fired Alyssa Reilly for not following bylaws, policies and procedures.

"Through NTBA’s volunteer Board’s review of the NTBA’s financial statements and in communication with vendors the NTBA had contracted with, it came to our attention that the organization’s bylaws, policies, and procedures weren’t being followed. The NTBA Board took immediate action to launch an official investigation, has involved the appropriate authorities, and is evaluating the next steps for the organization," the business association said in a statement.

ABC10 has reached out to Reilly for comment but hasn't heard back.

The North Tahoe Business Association was established in 1979 and works to improve the economy and quality of life in several communities including Carnelian Bay, Crystal Bay, Tahoe Vista, and Kings Beach.

The association is known for hosting events including Music On The Beach and Kings Beach Snowfest Parade among others.

ABC10 has reached out to the Placer County Sheriff's Office for more information on the investigation.
