Missing paddleboarder's body recovered from Beal's Point at Folsom Lake

The California State Parks got a call around 7:15 p.m. Sunday about a paddleboarder last seen near Granite Bay who hadn't returned.

GRANITE BAY, Calif. — The search for a man last seen near Beals Point at Folsom Lake State Recreation Area has ended.

California State Parks got a call around 7:15 p.m. Sunday for a paddleboarder last seen near Granite Bay who hadn't returned.

State Parks officers searched by boat and did free dives in the water near where the paddleboarder was seen, but didn't find anyone. The search was called off when it became too dark.

The search resumed Monday morning with dive teams from the state parks and Placer County Sheriff's Office along with a California Highway Patrol helicopter giving aerial support.

The paddleboarder's body was found and recovered around 1 p.m. Monday. The victim was an unidentified 53-year-old man.
