SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — A water rescue turned recovery effort resulted in a body being recovered from the American River by Sacramento Fire Department.
Sacramento County Park Rangers said people passing by had seen a body floating in the American River while crossing I-80 near Mile Marker 5.
Sacramento firefighters were dispatched to a water rescue for incident, but eventually that water rescue was turned into a recovery effort with help from Sacramento County Park Rangers.
Firefighters were able to recover the body, which was described as an unidentified female.
