The Cajun cuisine-inspired restaurant opened on 2026 Broadway in Sacramento last week a co-owner recently told ABC10.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A Cajun cuisine-inspired restaurant Creole Soul recently opened on 2026 Broadway in Sacramento.

Previously Panchos Cocina Mexicana, Creole Soul restaurant and bar opened May 15 and had more than 250 customers in its first week, said co-owner Verlyne Smith.

"Creole Soul has your standard mom and pop kitchen where people can feel comfortable dining out," she told ABC10. "We like to treat our customers with care and love—just like our food."

The restaurant and bar has Cajun cuisine that blends flavors from French and Southern cooking styles, with their chef, James Baker, dedicated to Cajun traditions.

Soul food dishes include fried chicken, seafood and more flavors rooted in Louisiana's rich culinary heritage.

"We're looking forward to people getting to know where we are and how good our food is," Smith said.
