Student attacked, pepper sprayed during fight at JFK High School, district says

Police say a group of 'apparent' minors who aren’t students at the school went to the school and started fighting with people

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento police are investigating after a group of people allegedly entered the campus of John F. Kennedy High School and started fighting with a student Thursday.

According to a statement from the Sacramento City Unified School District, it started around 2:20 p.m. when as many as six non-students – mostly adults – went to the school without permission and entered a classroom.

The statement says at least two of them started attacking a female student and used pepper spray.

The student who was attacked was treated at the scene. One staff member trying to break up the fight was also pepper sprayed.

The school was put on lockdown and police were called. The lockdown was lifted, and students were released around 3:15 p.m.

Staff members held two of the suspected attackers and turned them over to Sacramento police. Officers are still looking for the other people involved.
