Sheriff: Man looking for estranged wife killed in Sacramento County shooting

Sgt. Amar Gandhi, spokesperson for the sheriff's office, said a man was looking for his estranged wife and went inside an apartment and tried to grab the woman.

CALIFORNIA, USA — A man was killed in a shooting in Sacramento County Friday, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.

The shooting happened at an apartment complex along Sunnyslope Drive. It's near the intersection of Stockton Boulevard and Florin Road.

Sgt. Amar Gandhi, spokesperson for the sheriff's office, said a man was looking for his estranged wife and went inside an apartment and tried to grab the woman. Another person in the apartment tried to separate them. That person grabbed a gun and shot the man who had entered the apartment and he died at the scene, according to Gandhi.

Gandhi said several people were also inside the apartment at the time including children. The shooting is under investigation.
