If you want to party Mardi Gras style in Sacramento you don’t have to go far, but you might have to leave work a little early.

The 5th annual Mardi Gras Second Line Parade starts at 4:30 p.m. at Mulvaney’s B&L in Midtown. From Mulvaney's, you’ll dance (or moon walk, speed walk, stroll) up 19th Street to The Porch while the hip-hop-infused Element Brass Band plays some tunes.

Going alone? Valentine’s day is tomorrow. Who knows, you might find yourself a new boo!

After The Porch, ease on down to Easy on I, where you can pick-up a hurricane for about $5. Then you and your new friends, because you will make friends, will head west towards the Torch Club for more festivities, more hurricanes and music by local Americana blues artist JT Lawrence Git Down.

The party won't stop until 1 a.m., so remember...this is a marathon, not a sprint!
