SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed Sunday morning in a hit-and-run crash near California's state capitol building.
According to the Sacramento Police Department, the deadly crash was reported around 2:24 a.m. Sunday in the area of 8th Street and N Street.
At the scene, officers said they found the 22-year-old man with significant injuries. The other car involved in the crash allegedly left the intersection before police got there.
Firefighters took the victim to a hospital where he later died, police said.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation. Sacramento Police are asking witnesses to call investigators at 916-808-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at 916-443-4357.
People who give information to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
