SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Delta and Southwest airline flights are experiencing delays Thursday at the Sacramento International Airport in the wake of an internet outage.
AT&T service was restored to the Sacramento International Airport as of 11:35 a.m., but delays are still impacting travelers.
"We’ve restored internet and wireless service to affected customers in the Sacramento International Airport area following a fiber cut which appears to be an act of vandalism or attempted theft. We appreciate the patience of our customers as we worked to make repairs as quickly as possible," AT&T said in a statement.
The Sacramento International Airport said Southwest flights were departing as of 7 a.m. A spokesperson for Delta said they are still being impacted by the outage as of 8 a.m., but the delays are minimal.

Melody Kho was taking a flight out of Sacramento International Airport to catch a connecting flight in Denver to arrive in Chicago.
"It's probably moved about an eighth of a mile in an hour. It hasn't really moved that fast because they're handwriting tickets and then they're handwriting the tickets on the plane. If you're not internet savvy and don't have it on your phone, you're going to have a problem trying to show proof," Kho said.
An ABC10 viewer said people were being manually checked in for flights early Thursday morning, creating long lines stretching outside the airport.
"Our agents at SMF are working hard to manage our check-in and boarding processes through backup manual procedures to get our customers to their destinations as efficiently as possible while the issue is being resolved," Delta Airlines said in a statement.
AT&T had a wireless outage listed at the airport. The initial cause was listed as a transport failure, according to AT&T's outage map. Find the latest AT&T outages HERE.
