Minor accused of making threat against Salida Middle School

The minor was pulled from class, admitted to making the threatening post on Instagram and didn't have any weapons, according to deputies.

SALIDA, Calif. — A student at a Stanislaus County middle school was pulled from class and arrested in connection with making a school threat on Instagram.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office got reports of the alleged threat toward Salida Middle School around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

"An Instagram post read, 'Tomorrow it’s the end I’m being so for real I’m being a weap0n to salida middle school at noon,'" the sheriff's office said in a news release.

The Salida Union School District was notified and worked with law enforcement.

Deputies were on campus for increased security Wednesday morning while investigators tried to figure out who owned the Instagram account. Ultimately, students told school employees they knew who made the post.

The student was pulled from class and admitted to the post, but didn't have any weapons, according to the sheriff's office.

The student was arrested and booked into juvenile hall on suspicion of threats to a school and criminal threats.
