Still have a Bank of America EDD debit card? You have until April 15 to spend it

California residents who were given unemployment, disability and paid leave benefits from EDD Feb. 15 have another week to spend the money.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California's Employment Development Department (EDD) officials say Bank of America debit cards issued to beneficiaries will remain active until April 15.

The EDD issued such debit cards for use on Feb. 15 after a wave of COVID-19 pandemic-era debit card scams. Officials said 850,000 California beneficiaries were notified of the new debit cards issued through Money Network.

Beneficiaries still using EDD benefits on Bank of America debit cards can continue using them up until April 15.

California residents receiving EDD payments by debit card between Jan. 15 and Feb. 14 should have received new Money Network Cards.

If you don’t receive your card, contact Money Network at 1-800-684-7051.
