STOCKTON, Calif. — A pedestrian was killed in a crash involving a semi-truck and other cars Saturday morning, officers with the CHP's Stockton office said.
The crash happened around 6:16 a.m. Saturday on southbound Interstate 5 near the Fremont Street offramp.
Officers say a truck hit the pedestrian before other cars hit the pedestrian's body. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The CHP is still investigating the cause of the crash and does not know whether DUI was a factor. The investigation into the crash forced the closure of three lanes of the freeway.
