Roger Holmes identified as victim in deadly Stockton stabbing

Police said the suspect threatened the people inside and stabbed them.

STOCKTON, Calif. — The man killed in Stockton stabbing Tuesday night was identified as Roger Foy Holmes, 31.

The San Joaquin County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the man's identity with ABC10 as Roger Foy, however, his family said "Foy" was a middle name and he went by Roger Holmes.

Police originally responded to a report of a suspicious person along the 300 block of Florence Street around 11:45 p.m., but when officers arrived, they were told the suspect got into a backyard and a home while armed with knife.

The suspect threatened the people inside and stabbed them. When officers got into the home, the suspect was still inside and was then taken into custody.

Foy and another man, 57, was taken to a hospital, but Foy ultimately died from his injuries. The 57-year-old had non-life-threatening injuries.
