17-year-old killed in Stockton shooting

When officers arrived, they found a 17-year-old who had been shot. He died at the scene.

STOCKTON, Calif. — A 17-year-old was killed in a shooting in Stockton on Tuesday. 

The Stockton Police Department responded to the shooting around 8:50 p.m. in the 6200 block of N Pershing Avenue between Douglas Road and W Swain Road.

When officers arrived, they found a 17-year-old who had been shot. He died at the scene. The police department hasn't released his identity.

It's unclear what led up to the shooting or how many people were involved.

Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting.
