STOCKTON, Calif — A woman died after being hit by a car while crossing a street in Stockton early Monday morning.
The Stockton Police Department said the woman was hit just before 6 a.m. while crossing Martin Luther King Boulevard near Grant Street. She was only identified as a 47-year-old pedestrian.
She was taken to a hospital, but she ultimately died from her injuries.
Police said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers during the investigation.
