Sutter County deputies investigating increase in gas theft

The Sutter County Sheriff's Office said deputies have been conducting close patrols on multiple gas stations.

SUTTER COUNTY, Calif. — Several Sutter County gas stations have been reporting recent fuel thefts.

The Sutter County Sheriff's Office said Thursday deputies have been conducting close patrols on multiple gas stations.

The sheriff's office said on Tuesday, May 21, several vehicles were gathered around gas pumps at a Shell gas station along Obanion Road between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. 

Four vehicles were stopped for traffic violations while leaving the gas station and one of them had three full fuel containers in various sizes. 

No one was arrested on May 21 and the situation is being investigated. The sheriff's office said people can report suspicious activity by calling (530) 822-7307.
