Evacuation orders and road closures lifted for 'American Fire' in Napa County | Update

The fire is 80% contained after just under 600 acres have burned.

NAPA COUNTY, Calif. — Update:

The American Fire in Napa County saw minimal growth in acres burned, but a big jump in containment heading into Monday morning. 

Forward progress of the fire has stopped, which is now 80% contained with 562 acres burned. 

All evacuation orders and warnings, as well as road closures notifications, have been lifted.

One structure has been destroyed, but there have been no injuries or deaths.

Fire crews are working to get a handle on the so-called American Fire that flared up east of American Canyon and Interstate 80 in Napa County.

According to Cal Fire, as of 6:30 p.m. the American Fire has burned approximately 526 acres of land, "mostly low-lying grassland," on the hills east of American Canyon. 

The fire is approximately 30-percent contained, according to Cal Fire with multiple crews are battling the blaze, including water drops from the air.

An evacuation advisory was temporarily issued for Sagebrush (north of Donaldson Way), Sorrento, Farentino, and Servini courts. That advisory was lifted around 7 p.m.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
