UPDATE (Dec. 19):

The body of missing Roseville woman Briana Ferguson was found Wednesday in a remote area in Nevada County.

Early Wednesday Roseville Police were tipped off to a white jeep — similar to the one Ferguson was last reported in — in a remote area, according to Rob Baquera, the Roseville Police Department public information officer.

Nevada County Sheriff's Deputies were sent to the area to investigate and found the Jeep unoccupied.

Baquera said Ferguson's body was found while deputies searched the area around the car.

"This is a very unfortunate end to a missing persons case," Baquera said. "Our hearts and deepest sympathies go out to her families and all of her friends."

At this time Ferguson's cause of death has not been released, but Baquera said there is no evidence of foul play.

The Roseville Police Department did not indicate how long the Jeep or Ferguson's body had been in the area.

Ferguson is a well-known business woman in Roseville. She and her husband own The Ferguson Group, a property management and real estate company. Roseville police said she is the mother of one.

The Nevada County Sheriff's Office is handling the death investigation.
