'I'm not gonna say how I really feel': Epic postgame rant from ASU's Hurley goes viral

Sun Devils gave away the game late against UCLA, causing Hurley to go off on an epic postgame rant.

TEMPE, Ariz. — It’s about as mad as I’ve ever seen or heard Arizona State men’s basketball coach Bobby Hurley after a game.

Sun Devils gave away the game late against UCLA Wednesday night, causing Hurley to go off on an epic postgame rant.

UCLA rallied back from a 15-point deficit in the second half to beat ASU 68-66. The Bruins took full advantage of some hot tempers from ASU. In the final 10 minutes, the Devils were hit with four technical fouls and a flagrant foul resulting in UCLA making seven of eight free throws.

After the game, Coach Hurley didn’t want to talk about his feelings (wink wink).

Hurley finished his rant by saying he’ll take some measures internally to address the technicals but believes this is a game they should’ve won.

“I felt like we were the better team,” said Hurley. “We played better. We played better basketball. That’s the bottom line.”

Guard Frankie Collins also added more insight into what needs to be done in those situations.

“I got to be there making sure people understand in those situations, we can’t do that,” said Collins. “The refs were already telling us not to say a word, and we’re still talking… Just put this in the past and understand in moments like this, we can’t do this. Moving forward, we got to let our game do the talking.”

Social media also had some fun reactions to the rant.

The Sun Devils will host USC on Saturday at Desert Financial Arena at noon. The Trojans lost to Arizona on Wednesday.
