Petco Park ranked #1 MLB stadium in the US

SAN DIEGO — Once again, the home of the San Diego Padres has been recognized as the best Major League Baseball stadium in the country.

Picture perfect Petco Park was ranked the number one MLB stadium in the United States by USA Today.

The article published by For The Win compiled a list of the best 30 baseball stadiums across the country.

The food, beer and views are why San Diegans love the home of the Padres. Those are also the reasons why Petco Park received the top honor of America’s best ballpark. 

“We really shouldn't be surprised at this point because Petco Park truly is the perfect ballpark. It's embedded right in the heart of downtown San Diego with the skyline basically on top of you," the article said. "It’s impossible to have a bad experience there. "

Gallagher Square was highlighted as another reason why Petco Park was recognized as the top MLB stadium.

The kickoff of the San Diego Padres' new season also marks the 20th anniversary of Petco Park.

During Padres FanFest on March 24, the team will unveil the $20 million makeover of Gallagher Square that was completed to commemorate Petco Park's milestone anniversary.
