Sacramento Kings to face Golden State Warriors in battle for playoffs

The Sacramento Kings defeated the Portland Trail Blazers Sunday to lock in their spot for the Play-In Tournament.

SACRAMENTO, Calif — The Sacramento Kings path to the playoffs will have to go through a familiar foe, the very team that dealt them a first-round exit last year.

It'll be the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors squaring off in the post season once again. Both the Sacramento Kings and the Los Angeles Lakers won their games Sunday, locking the brackets for the Play-In Tournament in the Western Conference.

Sacramento claimed the 9th seed and will need to win two Play-In games in order to secure a playoff berth. They'll face the loser of the clash between the 7th and 8th seeds if they beat the Warriors.

However this year, they'll have to do it without two key players, Kevin Huerter and Malik Monk, who are both recovering from injuries.

The Kings square off against the Warriors on Tuesday night.
