MODESTO, Calif. — Three men leaped into action after a car jumped the curb and ended up in a Modesto canal Thursday.
The driver suffered a medical emergency while behind the wheel near East Briggsmore Avenue, according to Modesto Police. The car crashed into the canal just west of Roselle Avenue.
That is when Art Mondragon Jr., Art Mondragon Sr. and Mark Polkingorn jumped into action. The three good Samaritans worked quickly to pull the driver from the partially submerged car.
The Modesto Fire Department and Meyers Tow arrived and assisted with the rescue. Modesto Police thanked the kind Samaritans on Facebook for their quick actions and willingness to help.
