Coroner identifies 16-year-old killed in Oak Park shooting

The Sacramento Coroner's Office has identified the victim of a fatal shooting in Oak Park on Friday as 16-year-old Timothy Jeter.

The shooting happened near Santa Cruz Way and Broadway just after midnight on Dec. 22, police said. Officers received calls that a person was lying in the middle of the street after neighbors heard gunfire.

Sacramento police said Jeter died at the hospital from his injuries.

An adult male was also injured in the shooting and taken to the hospital. The man was last reported to be in serious but stable condition.

The motive for the shooting is unknown, police say.
