Missing Stockton woman found, man arrested in Elk Grove in connection to disappearance

The Stockton Police Department says the woman went missing April 16 and she was found in Elk Grove nine days later.

ELK GROVE, Calif. — A woman missing from Stockton was found Thursday and a man was arrested in connection to an investigation into her disappearance, police say.

The Stockton Police Department says the woman went missing April 16 and they began investigating. They gave nearby law enforcement agencies a description of the missing person, along with a vehicle she may have been in, to aid in the investigation.

Elk Grove Police Department officials arrested 41-year-old Frank Hicks in connection to the investigation nine days after her disappearance. It's unclear what his charges are at this time or how he knows the woman. 

A man under the name Frank Rathel Hicks was booked into the Sacramento County Jail around 11 p.m. on suspicion of rape, kidnapping and weapons charges, according to the Sacramento County jail inmate search webpage

Elk Grove police say the investigation is ongoing and could not provide any additional information Friday evening.
