2 injured after car and ambulance collide in downtown Sacramento

The driver of the vehicle was hospitalized with serious injuries.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Two people were injured in downtown Sacramento Friday when a vehicle crashed into an ambulance.

According to the Sacramento Fire Department, it happened around 3 p.m. near the intersection of 5th and L streets.

Sacramento Fire says an ambulance was involved in an accident while responding to a call.

The driver of the car that collided with the ambulance was taken from the scene with serious injuries while a member of the fire department had minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
