MODESTO, Calif. — A student at Fred C. Beyer High School was reported Thursday, for having a gun on campus, according to Modesto City Schools.
Once found, the boy and his twin brother were both detained by Modesto Police, who found a handgun in one of their backpacks, according to Sgt. Eric Schuller.
No threats were made to anyone on campus and no one was hurt during the incident, Schuller said, adding that a video of a student holding a handgun at the school is what led to the reports of an armed student.
"We are grateful for those who made a report to staff. The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority," the school said in a statement posted to Facebook. "Working together, Beyer will continue to be a safe campus."
