Elk Grove Police Department officials were called to the gas station on Sheldon Road and E. Stockton Boulevard around 8:27 p.m.

ELK GROVE, Calif. — A man was taken to the hospital after being found with multiple gunshot wounds at an Elk Grove gas station Saturday night, according to police.

Elk Grove Police Department officials say they were called to the AM/PM on Sheldon Road and East Stockton Boulevard around 8:27 p.m. about a man who had been shot in his car.

Once officials got to the scene, they treated the man's injuries until he was taken to the hospital by paramedics. On Sunday police said he was in stable condition.

The Sacramento Police Department took over the investigation after learning that he was shot near the intersection of Praline Way and Dotson Court.

At least one car was found with a bullet hole in the area.  Officers have not made any arrests and say they are still investigating the shooting.
