Shrieking 911 call leads to gruesome discovery inside Vacaville home

Dispatchers said they received an open line 911 call around 7 a.m. on which nothing but the sound of a woman screaming could be heard.

VACAVILLE, Calif. — Homicide detectives are investigating after a woman was found stabbed to death inside a home in Vacaville early Thursday morning.

Dispatchers said they received an open line 911 call around 7 a.m. on which nothing but the sound of a woman screaming could be heard. When police arrived at the home in the 900 block of Rio Grande Drive, they said they found a 59-year-old woman dead with multiple stab wounds to her body.

Police said the victim's son, 21-year-old Shane Riley, has been arrested for the homicide. According to investigators, Riley lived at the home with his mom. 

Investigators have chosen not to release the name of the victim at this time.

Investigators are on scene at a home in the 900 block of Rio Grande ... Drive conducting a homicide investigation. Around 7:00 a.m. we received a 911 open line call into our Communications Center. Dispatchers could hear a woman screaming in the background.
