'Buffet' of drugs seized in Butte County

A Lake Tahoe man was arrested in Butte County with a wide variety of drugs, a gun, and thousands of dollars in cash.

A Lake Tahoe man was arrested in Butte County with a wide variety of drugs, a gun, and thousands of dollars in cash.

Authorities arrested 38-year-old Jay White, Monday night, after being called to check on a suspicious vehicle in the 13000 block of Oro Quincy Highway north of the Berry Creek area.

Butte County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the call and made contact with White. After a search of White’s vehicle, investigators say they found one pound of cocaine, thousands of ecstasy pills, about three pounds of powdered MDMA, two pounds of Ketamine, “magic” mushrooms, LSD, DMT, and marijuana. A handgun and $16,000 in cash was also found, according to the report.

The Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force was later called in to take over the investigation due to the volume of drugs found. Authorities say some of the drugs seized will have to be analyzed to confirm what they are.

White was booked into the Butte County Jail on several drug and weapons complaints. His bond was set at $371,000. Additional charges may be added as the investigation progresses.
