‘Benefit the larger community’: Five Below to open in Grass Valley

The tentative grand opening for the store is May 31, according to Five Below. The discount store company offers most of its products at $5 or less.

GRASS VALLEY, Calif. — A Five Below is slated to open in Grass Valley later this month.

Located at 123 W McKnight Way in the McKnight Crossing Shopping Center, the tentative grand opening for the store is May 31, according to Five Below. The discount store company offers most of its products at $5 or less.

Steve Mensinger is the president of Mesa Management, the company overseeing the shopping center.

“After adding Target to our shopping center tenant mix, we approached Five Below which adds a ‘value’-oriented list of everyday shopping items that benefit the larger community,” Mensinger told ABC10. “We have worked closely with the great team at Five Below to make sure this shopping venue connects with our community and the shopping center experience.”

Mensinger said the company sought local Grass Valley and Nevada City retailers after securing  Five Below, Target and Big 5 as tenants. Local additions include the Sweet Spot Bakery and River Dog 4 Taproom.

Smaller retailers can employ the center’s outdoor seating areas, The Grove and The Mix and Midway, or its viewing area, Patriots Point, for customer use, he said.

He said there will be a multi-day, grand reopening of the shopping center in July to coincide with its completion.
