Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van dealership planned for Roseville

The 97,000-square-foot dealership will include detail bays and on-site vehicle parts storage.

CALIFORNIA, USA — A Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van dealership and service facility is planned for Roseville.

The Roseville City Council unanimously approved a specific plan amendment and conditional use permit for the project, which will be located at 1513 Eureka Rd. and 1411 Rocky Ridge Dr. in the Northeast Roseville Specific Plan.

The 97,000-square-foot dealership will include detail bays and on-site vehicle parts storage.

It will be two stories and the first floor will include a showroom, sales office, parts storage, two detail bays and 21 service bays. The second floor will have 26 service bays and offices, according to a staff report.

"As someone who has to frequent the Mercedes dealership in Rocklin, for one of my vehicles, I'm so happy they're building this because they have been inundated with the sprinter vans and the RVs, that when I talked to the general manager a few times they had mentioned this site and this is going to relieve a lot of congestion especially when it backs up even onto the freeway some mornings," Councilmember Tracy Mendonsa said.

Mendonsa said at the meeting lots of the people with RVs will have enough room to maneuver and get on and off the freeway easier than where they currently have to go at the Roseville Automall.

Planning Manager Greg Bitter said he talked to the Executive Director of the Roseville Automall Association, and their position was that while they're not thrilled with new dealerships outside the automall, the automall is full. So, the association won't oppose the proposal.

"We've had other projects approved on the site in the past — office buildings, medical office buildings — and they just didn't have the need to use all that land in the back. This is a project that actually uses all the property," Bitter said.
